Preferred Global Health apppoints new global CEO, Chairman and regional CEOs

Preferred Global Health (PGH), the global patient organization, is pleased to announce key executive appointments globally.

David Fried has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer effective September 01, 2018. David will be responsible for the oversight of PGH’s strategy, business, and operations across its offices in Boston, Hong Kong, London, Bermuda, Oslo, and Miami. At PGH, David will split his time between the company’s headquarters in Boston and Hong Kong.

David is a veteran in financial services with more than 30 years of experience in executive global leadership roles. He has an outstanding record of achievements and has an intimate understanding of various sectors in both emerging and developed markets. He also has extensive experience in a number of globally focused strategic roles, having spent 27 years with HSBC where he served in various managerial capacities across the Americas, Asia, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East. At HSBC, he was Group General Manager and Group Head of Insurance overseeing the company’s insurance operations across 52 countries with profit of $3bn annually. Previously, he also held executive management roles at Allianz S.E. as CEO for Asia Pacific and at QBE as CEO for Emerging Markets.

PGH is also pleased to announce the appointments of Ramneet Walia (Ram) as CEO, Asia and Leo Zanolini as CEO, Americas.

In their capacities of CEO Asia and CEO Americas, Ram and Leo will be responsible for developing and implementing PGH’s strategy as well as overseeing management of its partners relationships in their respective territories.

Ram will be based in Hong Kong and as a key member of the global executive management, will report directly to David Fried. Ram has over 16 years of insurance experience in various regional leadership roles for leading global players including QBE, AXA, and Allianz in Asia. He is highly experienced in distribution, partnerships, and M&A across Asia. Before joining PGH, he was the Head of Partnerships for QBE, Emerging Markets. Previously, with AXA, he successfully managed key regional partnerships with HSBC, Bank Mandiri, Krung Thai, Metrobank amongst others. He successfully managed various key management roles at Bharti AXA, India. Prior to AXA, he was Head of Bancassurance & Travel for Reliance, as well as Bajaj Allianz in India.

Leo will be based Miami and as a key member of the global executive management, will report directly to David Fried. Leo has over 19 years of experience in various local, regional, and global senior leadership roles in QBE and HSBC in Brazil, Mexico, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the United States. He is highly experienced in sales and distribution, operations, M&A, and corporate strategy. Before joining PGH, Leo Zanolini was the COO and Head of Distribution for QBE Latin America. Prior to that, Leo was the Chief Executive Officer of QBE Insurance Malaysia. Previously, Leo held the roles of Regional Head of Business Transformation for QBE Asia Pacific, Global Head of Process Development for HSBC Insurance Holdings, and the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer for HSBC Amanah Takaful Malaysia.
