What is the Diagnostic Verification and Treatment Plan?

The Diagnostic Verification Treatment Plan, or DVTP, is the process by which Harvard-affiliated specialists review your personal medical information to confirm a diagnosis, and then cooperate with your local physician to create a treatment plan that is tailored to be the best option for you. This entire process will be done remotely without you ever leaving the comfort of your home country.

According to U.S.-based research conducted, Harvard physicians disagreed with an initial diagnosis just 5% of the time, while they disagreed with the recommended treatment plan 90% of the time.

PGH as a Global Patient Organization (GPO) builds a solid foundation for bridging the dialogue between the Harvard-affiliated specialists and your physician at home. Our involvement in your medical case is personal, and you can be assured that PGH strives to engage every one of our patients in each step of the treatment-planning process. Our main focus and concern is getting you the access to the best physicians and most up-to-date medical knowledge of your condition.

In some countries, PGH has National Medical Advisors (NMAs), which are local, licensed physicians working for PGH. The role of the NMA is to assist you and PGH in obtaining your medical records and information. Contact us to find out if there is an NMA available to assist you in getting your DVTP.

Our medical board, which advises us on a range of medical issues and relevant questions, is comprised of four well-known Harvard-affiliated professors who are at the top of their field. These professors are:

  • Dr. Stephen Sallan, MD, Chief of Staff at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
  • Dr. Gilbert Mudge, Jr., MD, Medical Director of the Cardiac Transplantation Program at Brigham & Women's Hospital.
  • Dr. Lawrence Shulman, MD, Vice-Chair for Clinical Services in Adult Oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham & Women's Hospital. Awarded the James Carreras Prize for International Pediatrician of the Year.
  • Dr. David Sugarbaker, MD, Director of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham & Women's Hospital Thoracic Oncology Program.

The DVTP process ensures that you, the patient, gets the correct diagnosis and treatment plan for your condition—without leaving your home country.

How does the DVTP process work?

All you have to do is send us your medical materials, which include:

    • Give generic names where possible
  • A detailed prior medical history:

“...Preferred Global Health (PGH) helps it's subscribers choose among the world-class providers and treatments it offers for the critical illnesses it covers. PGH's experience belies the argument that there is too little information available for meaningful consumer choice in health care.”
